Security Notice: Protecting Against Fraud, Impersonation, and Scam Activity

Mantis Solutions has become aware of fraudulent activity involving individuals and groups impersonating our organisation. These impersonators attempt to deceive people into thinking they are communicating with official representatives of Mantis Solutions in order to solicit personal information, payments, or participation in fraudulent schemes.

This notice outlines the known forms of fraud, how to identify them, the steps to protect yourself, and how to report suspicious activity.

Types of Known Fraud and Scam Activity

Fraudsters may impersonate Mantis Solutions via:

1. Fake Job or Task Offers

Scammers falsely claim to offer employment opportunities, freelance tasks, or data processing jobs. Victims are:

  • Asked to deposit money to receive job assignments or unlock task payouts
  • Told to complete meaningless “task data” with promised compensation
  • Instructed not to contact Mantis Solutions directly
  • Threatened with loss of earnings or legal action if they don’t comply

These scams often operate over messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, or Signal using vague terms like:

  • “Combination data”
  • “Confidentiality agreement”
  • “Merchant task system”
  • “Urgent work deadlines”

Mantis Solutions does not offer jobs via messaging platforms and never asks for deposits or fees.

2. Phishing & Impersonation via Messaging Apps

Fraudsters may:

  • Pose as Mantis Solutions customer service or HR personnel
  • Use urgent or aggressive language to coerce compliance
  • Refer to fabricated internal policies (e.g., bankruptcy if tasks aren’t completed)
  • Mimic our branding, job titles, or domain names to gain trust
  • Pretend to “update” URLs or change domain names to continue the scam

3. Fake Websites & Spoofed Domains

Scammers often register domains that closely resemble official Mantis domains, including:

  • Domains with uncommon or deceptive TLDs like .bond, .info, .xyz, .shop, .online
  • Sites designed to mimic Mantis branding but serve malicious intent
  • Pages flagged by Chrome or browsers as "Dangerous site", warning of phishing or malware

4. Email and Domain Spoofing

Scammers may send emails that appear legitimate but actually come from fake or misleading addresses designed to resemble Mantis Solutions. These emails often:

  • Use minor variations or additional words in the domain name
  • Mimic the tone and formatting of official communication
  • Include links to fraudulent websites or request sensitive information

Always check the full sender email address carefully. If it does not originate from our official domains, it should be treated as suspicious.

Verified Official Domains

Mantis Solutions only operates under the following domains:

  • mantissolutions.com
  • mantissolutions.co.uk
  • mantis-intelligence.com

We do not operate or affiliate with domains ending in:

  • .bond, .click, .xyz, .shop, .top, .online, .info, .net, .org, or any other unlisted extension
